What is Covid-19?

Covid-19 also know as the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) that causes coronavirus disease 2019. The virus spreads from person-to-person most frequently among close contacts, within about 6 feet, via respiratory droplets. 

Another way the virus is transmitted is, from surfaces contaminated with the virus. Recent studies indicate that people who are infected but do not have symptoms likely also play a role in the spread of COVID-19. Transmission of coronavirus occurs much more commonly through respiratory droplets than through objects and surfaces, like door handles, surface tops, keyboards, and metallic/plastic objects.

Although there is no definitive proof yet,  evidence suggests that SARS-CoV-2 may remain alive for hours to days on surfaces made from a variety of materials. This makes the cleaning and disinfecting of visibly dirty surfaces, the best way of prevention COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses in homes and commercial properties.
